grrrrrrr. i didn't do ANYTHING this weekend! not even stay up late! i even had someone call and wake me up last night after an hour nap so i could stay up and actually talk to people, or at least watch something good! lol. But alas, i fell asleep on him. though i DID take his advice... i didn't do ANYTHING but take my pain meds like a good girl and keep my foot either elevated and iced, or soaking in epsom salts. I lifted nothing heavier than the remote, as specified... and don! i managed to make it to the bathroom without breaking my ankle!
what a boring weekend, tho. All that pain medicine just knocks me out. and my couch! my couch is an evilly enchanted object that appears to suck the life out of me everytime i sit on it. lol. i fell asleep on it THREE times last week and never made it to my bed before it was time for work. *L* i even left the kitchen light on last night so it would irritate me and i wouldn't be ABLE to sleep for more than an hour or so. lol. apparently that didn't work, as i just woke up in the same spot, phone open, in the midst of a text message that said nothing but "blkty kdht so bkthe dit lalekg" or something to that effect. *chuckles* that must have been the vicodin talking... i'm just wondering how many of the messages that i actually managed to get SENT looked like that. lol. (sorry, sweets, thanks for trying anyhow! *L*)
now it's 9:30am on a SUNDAY morning, and i'm awake for the day... grrr. lol. so much for sleeping in this weekend. though i did plenty of sleeping last night when i wanted to be up, so i guess it evens out. i didn't even get to sleep late yesterday morning, lol. i woke up at like 4am or so, on the evil will-sucking couch of course, lol. And got up to do some cleaning... my best friend called, saying they had no bathroom, and wanting to come stay here during the day and sleep, for work last night... i had only slept for about 4 or 5 hours, and had planned on going back to bed and napping for a bit. *L* but i said sure, and she came over and stayed up for a good part of the day. We had fun though, i made some kick ass cappuccino and we had a chat... i'm getting good at the espresso machine... espresso is easy to make, and usually i just drink it that way for myself... but she's a light weight, lol. Even after i frothed the milk and added it she was like jesus that's strong! *L*
*sighs*... my last day off before i go back to work tomorrow. i swear i don't remember half of this weekend, cuz i slept through most of it! But, maybe the rest did me good, and i know my foot feels 10 times better... so i guess sitting still in one place unconscious wasn't TOO tragic. lol. i just feel like i need another 2 or 3 days off now to actually ENJOY before i have to go back. *L* ah well... such is life.
...though i have to say, looking around and reading... if getting too much rest and being boring on the weekend is the ONLY problem i have right now... i should consider myself lucky... *nodding*... and i do. This refusing to get excited about things i have no control of is working pretty well.
i have been working really hard as of late on my need to control people and things that are OUT of my control. and i have to confess. Life is so much EASIER... more simple... less frustrating... less stressful. i actually think it's starting to get on people's nerves... they aren't used to me just saying "ok, whatever". lol. there are at least 6 things this weekend that my mother absolutely TRIED to get me to be spastic over... i just looked at her, and politely explained that i'm not getting bullistic over things i can't possibly change or control anymore. i thought for a minute her head would explode. *L* That is where i get all this behavior from, and i think it is making HER spastic that she can't control my reaction to things...
*shrugs*... i hate that, lol. But she will have to work it out on her own, because i'm done. All worrying and trying to control the outcome of things does is make things 10 times more stressful, when in reality it doesn't change the outcome of ANYTHING one way or another... the only person you make miserable with it is yourself... and i'm tired of being miserable. *L*
ok. i sounded just like Tony Robbins there for a minute. but you get the idea. lol. dropping the worry and responsibility for every situation that goes on around you is extremely liberating...
i hope everyone has been having an enjoyable weekend... if not exciting and fun, then at least restful and relaxing, like mine...
if not, you'd better enjoy today, dammit, cuz it's the last one you get before m... mmmm... *tries again*... Monday. ew.
as for me, i'm staying FAR away from the evil couch today! *L* i have to go return my DVD player and get another... it just stopped working. It won't even turn on... just... nada. I'm SO patting myself on the back right now for buying a 2 year extended warranty. ummmmmm. Sin City is stuck in the old one... i hope they can get it out... or i will be paying netflix. lol.
